Assistant Principal Message

Dear Tiger Families,

I am honored and proud to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Bennett Middle School! I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to help lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. One of the most impressive attributes I have found in the Bennett school community is the student-centered culture that exists here. I am thrilled to join a team that values learning and growth so highly!

This fall will mark my 24th year in education. 16 of those years was serving as a secondary science or social studies teacher (odd combination, I know!), while five of them was as an instructor at Colorado State University-Pueblo teaching geography courses or teacher education courses. This year will be my fourth as a school administrator. Almost all of my public teaching experience has been in Title-1 schools, teaching a very culturally and economically diverse student population. The decision to become an administrator stems from my desire to make an impact on an entire school community. My role at Bennett will provide me the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while remaining connected to our students and the learning that takes place within their classrooms.  Diversity and inclusion are pillars of my personal educational mantra.  I am committed to continuous professional growth and ensuring educational equity and access for all of our students.

Outside of school, I am the proud father to two: a daughter who will be attending college in North Carolina and a son who will be a junior this year. But I am most proud to call myself a loving husband to a wife of 20 years and who still wants me around! My passions lie in the sports of my children, aviation, photography, baseball, and archery (I’m a Level 3 USA Archery coach specializing in compound archery).

I wholeheartedly believe in the partnership between home and school and that this relationship is vital to the success of our students. My door is open for questions or concerns, and I look forward to working with you to ensure that our students have access to the finest learning opportunities in order for them to achieve their fullest potential.

With Warmest Regards,

Travis Conroy, Assistant Principal
