Course Description:

The major emphasis of this course is to develop student achievement through singing and vocal production. The course develops the skills necessary for ensemble singing of simple choral literature appropriately arranged for enrolled singers, develops skills in reading music notation, and provides opportunities for growth in the understanding of musical elements as applied to the music performed. Ensemble classes allow you to learn all these things while you make music as a team and have fun! All I can ask is that everyone puts their best foot forward so that we can have the best experience possible. 

Course Description

This course examines popular music from the 1900s through 2020, and how that music connected with the time period.  Through discussions, projects, and activities we will learn what styles of music were popular during decade, popular artists songs, what was going on in the world and our country during each decade, how people listened to music, the fashion of each decade, inventions and other firsts of each decade, and how music connects to your life. All students will be provided a notebook with all the necessary materials needed for this class.

Course Description:

Students will be introduced to the basic concepts of theater and tech. This class is designed to accommodate students who have no experience as well as students who have previously been involved in theater or tech classes. Students will use various creative drama techniques to build confidence and trust, encourage imagination, movement, and acting. Through theater games and activities, students will learn to become confident on stage and gain trust in themselves and others in the group. Students will learn and use drama and theater vocabulary in class discussions and activities will directly address the promotion and reinforcement of students’ literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening and speaking. Students will exhibit and reinforce these skills through individual and group presentations, performances,  group activities and script reading. Tech students will learn what goes into lighting, sound, costuming and prop building.
